HEALTH SERIES #6 STD Kits

It’s not just staying safe from COVID that we need to remember and prioritise, it's also staying safe in ourselves.  


Today’s health post is a little different than what we’ve been talking about previously. This time we will be covering STDs and the importance of testing.    The idea of getting an STD check can seem daunting however it is so important! It doesn’t matter if you have had one sexual partner of it you have had 100, it is important to make sure that you are okay!     Here are some of the benefits of getting an STD check:  (And a link for you to check yourself! https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/sexual-health/)   -Some STDs don’t give off any symptoms, therefore you may have an STD and not even know it, so getting yourself tested is always good!  -If you leave some STDs untreated, it may progress and affect your health in various aspects, such as your fertility, therefore it is important to get regularly checks so that no matter is left unattended to.   Now that you know why it is important to get checked for STDs here’s some information about how you can get STD kits whilst studying at Brighton – did you know that these tests can be FREE?!

COVID can be passed on via sex therefore it is important you know who you are engaging with.
